The co-op hit game developed by Hazelight Studios, Split Fiction is an action-adventure title release earlier this month by Electronic Arts. It is available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The title has taken the gaming world by storm, as it received highest Metacritic rating on the launch day after a very long streak of EA not welcomed by critics well in past years.

The strong early momentum behind Split Fiction has continued through its first week of release, as the title hits 2 million sales worldwide. This milestone follows earlier reports that the game had already sold 1 million copies within the first 48 hours of release.

In a post shared just a few hours ago on Hazelight Studios’ official X account, the developer proudly announced: “Split Fiction hits 2 million copies in 1 week!” Following this excited news, the Studio expressed its gratitude to fans, thanking them for their incredible support and enthusiasm. They also shared their joy over the overwhelmingly positive reception the game has received worldwide.

Importance: The Swedish developer has achieved its fast-selling game ever, reinforcing its repo as a leader in co-op gaming. Simultaneously, this also marks a major win for EA following its recent struggles. Split Fiction’s impressive global sales suggest a growing demand for co-op experiences, encouraging more developers to focus on this genre.

The co-op multiplayer game Split Fiction offers Free Friend Pass to play the game

Previously, the Swedish developer announced the sales update on Bluesky, confirming that its latest title Split Fictions has sold 1 million copies in the first two days of release. The developer added:

The love you all show for our game is overwhelming! Everyone here at Hazelight are beyond happy — and we can’t stop enjoying your amazing reactions!

Friend Pass Feature Boosts Player Engagement

One of the most intriguing and effective strategies Split Fiction has used to attract more users is the Friend Pass feature. This allows players to invite others to join the game for free, even if they don’t own a copy. This has led to strong word-of-mouth promotion, driving even more sales.

Split Fictions Hits 2 Million, Setting A New Benchmark

The 2 million copies sold have made Split Fiction the fastest-selling game in the Studio’s history, surpassing A Way Out, which reached the milestone in two weeks, and It Takes Two, which took a month to achieve the same feat.

With such an overwhelming response, it’s clear that Split Fiction has become a true co-op sensation. As the journey continues, we can’t wait to see even more players dive into the adventure!
