FromSoftware Issues Fix For Stuttering In Elden Ring

Many players have reported inconsistent performance in Elden Ring ever since the new expansions for the game, Shadow of the Erdtree, came out. However, FromSoftware, the developer of Elden Ring, has issued a potential fix for the problem.

FromSoftware has identified that performance issues in the Steam version of the game might be linked to the use of external mouse softwares running in the background.

In a tweet from the official Japanese FromSoftware Player Support account, players were advised that they stop running any external mouse softwares in the background to potentially fix the stuttering.

Importance: Elden Ring has reached new heights of popularity following the release of Shadow of the Erdtree. However, the DLC has introduced a few performance issues. It is reassuring to see FromSoftware actively working to address and fix these problems.

The tweet states:

“On the PC version, if you play the game while an application related to mouse control is running, the frame rate may become unstable. In that case, please stop any applications related to mouse control and try playing the game.”

This advice comes after players shared the solution on social media. One user, @ECHIZEN_KURAGE_, reported that turning off a mouse gesture app called Kazaguru Mouse resolved the stuttering issue.

Shadow of the Erdtree has received high praise from critics, with many describing it as an outstanding expansion and a worthy successor to the original game. The DLC has been lauded for providing a more focused yet extensive experience. It currently holds the highest rating for a DLC on Metacritic, with an average critic score of 95.

However, some of the DLC’s rich content has been tarnished by the performance issues players have been facing. We hope that that the above solution resolves the problem. If not, we hope that FromSoftware will address and fix these issues as soon as possible.
