When the Watch Dogs franchise released its first game, it received a lot of praise for its graphics, unique hacking concept, and mechanics. It was seen as a potential competitor to the Grand Theft Auto series, with people even making comparison videos with GTA 5.

However, the future of the franchise was tarnished by its sequel, which failed to live up to the great experience provided by the first game. Fans hoped the third entry would succeed, but it ultimately did not and became the weakest entry in the franchise, potentially sealing its fate.

But let’s forget the bad times and remember the greatest game of the franchise that we all loved, Watch Dogs. Today, we celebrate its 10th anniversary, as the game was released on May 26, 2014, by Ubisoft.

Why it matters: Watch Dogs was the first and strongest entry in the franchise. It was praised for its advanced graphics for the time, its unique gameplay involving hacking, and its captivating story that won many hearts, including ours.

Watch Dogs 2 Can Be Completed Without Killing Anybody

One of the main highlights of Watch Dogs is its protagonist, Aiden Pearce, who is on a mission to seek justice for his niece, who was killed by a group of unknown individuals connected to Aiden’s past.

Another great aspect of the game was its rich content. The entire city felt like a character of its own, with numerous interactive elements primarily accessed through hacking, making for a much more interesting and enjoyable experience.

Ubisoft, in general, has lost its footing recently and hasn’t been performing well. However, we still believe they can regain their momentum and get back on track. We hope to see the Watch Dogs franchise revived and receive the sequels it rightfully deserves.

A continuation of Aiden Pearce’s story would be a great way to put the franchise back on track. The first Watch Dogs ended on a cliffhanger with its post-credits scene, which would make for a great sequel to the story.

Watch Dogs Was Even Better Than What People Credited It

We hope to see the franchise back in action and that Ubisoft doesn’t decide to axe it due to the poor performance of the later games. They were the ones to create the first title in the franchise, and they surely can create a masterpiece like it again.

Nevertheless, we hope the future is positive for the Watch Dogs franchise, and we wish to see it back on track, thriving like it did when it was first launched.
