Recent leaks from a Nintendo Switch development kit have unveiled several unreleased and cancelled game projects, offering a rare glimpse into titles that never reached the public.
Alleged prototype builds of several cancelled games, including a Nintendo Switch Ridge Racer, LEGO Civilization, and unannounced Retro Studios project, have surfaced online.
Footage from cancelled Ridge Racer game, believed to be built almost 8 years ago, is now circulating on social media. Developed by Bandai Namco Studios Singapore, the game was intended for the Nintendo Switch but was never officially announced and is thought to have been cancelled long ago.
Important: The leaked footage offers fans a chance to see what could have been. These leaks not only highlight the ambitious projects behind unseen Nintendo projects that are leaked but also shed light on the industry’s development process, revealing how certain games are often abandoned before reaching the public.

Retro Studios “Harmony” Project Leaked
Additional footage of a game prototype called “Harmony”, created by Retro Studios, has appeared online. The video shows a fairy character from a third-person perspective, with the ability to transform into other characters to solve puzzles. The game was never revealed by the Studio, suggesting it was either cancelled or never completed.

Previous Uncovers & Source Of Unseen Nintendo Projects
Reece “Kiwi Talkz” Reilly, a content creator who has interviewed former Retro Studios employees, previously mentioned the unannounced game. On Resetera earlier this year, he revealed that the project was considered a “huge disaster” and was cancelled after several years of no progress.
The footage of this game is believed to have been obtained from a Nintendo Switch development kit that was sold online. These development kits, given to developers by platform holders, are modified versions of retail consoles designed to run in-progress game builds.
And even after a game is cancelled, these kits can retain playable versions and related data. Selling such kits is a violation of the terms of service set by the platform holder.
Featuring temporary assets and environments, the build of the cancelled game is said to be circulating online, with many reporting it as playable, though it is in a very basic state.
A LEGO Civilization menu screen, a LEGO version of the classic strategy game, was found on the development kit. However, those who tried to run it reported that the game crashed immediately upon attempting to play.

Additional Leaked Game
The development kit also contained debug builds of “Splatoon 2,” “Arms,” and “Rime”. These builds provide insight into the development processes and early versions of these titles.
On that note, what do you think about how these unseen Nintendo projects leaked prototypes could change the way fans view cancelled games?
