The Last of US Part II Remastered brings the acclaimed action-adventure game to new heights with upgraded visuals, faster load times, and enhanced performance, making it an even more immersive experience on modern hardware.

It’s an exciting day for The Last of Us, as Part II Remastered makes its debut on PC and a significant 2.0 update is rolled out across all platforms. The update brings exciting additions, including new No Return maps, enhanced content, and various improvements.

However, along with these news features, players are encountering a frustrating issue: character upgrades are being wiped, leading to the loss of progress. The bug has raised concerns within the community, with many advising caution before downloading update.

Important: Loosing upgrades can severely impact player satisfaction and trust in future updates. Persistent issues may lead to backlash from fans, tarnishing Naughty Dog’s reputation if the bug isn’t addressed quickly.

Positive Steam Rating Despite Skills And Weapon Bugs

The 2.0 update for The Last of Us Part II Remastered was intended to mark the game’s recent PC releases and bring exciting new content to all platforms. However, it has caused serious issues, including the loss of Abby’s and Ellie’s character skills and the removal of certain weapon holsters.

Although the 2.0 update for The Last of US Part II Remastered has progression issues, the game has still garnered a Very Positive rating on Steam. This is a much better reception compared to the troubled PC launch of Part I in 2022.

Uncertainty Around The 2.0 Update For The Last of Us Part II Remastered

It is unclear whether the progression loss is linked to the 2.0 update or only affects New Game Plus when overwriting old saves. Players on PlayStation or those continuing existing saves should avoid starting a New Game Plus for now.

Fans with progress in the campaign or No Return mode should hold off on the update until Naughty Dog provides a fix or reliable solution.

Naughty Dog has confirmed that the 2.0.0 patch for The Last of US Part II Remastered may reset Abby’s and Ellie’s skill trees, causing progression loss. The developer acknowledged the issue in updated patch notes but has not provided a fix yet.

As a precaution, players are advised not to overwrite a manual save files until a solution is available.

On that note, what are your thoughts on this development?
