Killing Floor 3 is an upcoming survival horror first-person shooter developed by Tripwire Interactive. It serves as a direct sequel to Killing Floor 2 from 2016. While the game was initially scheduled for release this month, as mentioned on Steam, the developer has announced that it would no longer be the case.

Killing Floor 3 will be available on PC, PS5 and the Xbox Series X|S. The game features both solo and four-player cooperative multiplayer modes, where players confront bioengineered creatures known as “Zeds”. A multiplayer beta for the game was released in January 2025, receiving mixed reactions from players.

In response to feedback from recent closed beta, the developer has decided to postpone the launch of Killing Floor 3 to an unspecified date. Additionally, all existing pre-orders will be cancelled, and players will be refunded.

A detailed report by the Tripwire Interactive Development Team has been published on their website, announcing the news. The developer has assured players that their feedback will be taken into consideration, and they are committed to preserving the game’s core experience.

Importance: This delay by the developer reflects their commitment to quality and player-centric approach in improving the game before launch. However, it also brings disappointment and frustration for some players, who have been eagerly anticipating its release.

In the report, Tripwire also acknowledged several issues that players encountered during the beta release of the game. These include performance and stability problems, user experience issues, lighting inconsistencies, and weapon feel.

    Post-Launch Updates

The team mentioned that while it is too early to say what fixes would be implemented by launch, they mentioned clearly that one specific update—the ability to independently choose your perk class and character—will be added in a post-launch update.

Tripwire Interactive is excited to present a more refined version of Killing Floor 3 later this year and has expressed gratitude to fans for their patience and support.
