The critically acclaimed third person shooter Gears of War was first launched in 2006. It was developed by Epic Games and later taken over by Microsoft’s The Coalition.
Recently, rumors have claimed that the Gears of War new Bundle, consisting of first three games in the series, is set to release soon.
It was speculated that the bundle would be launched simultaneously on all platforms at the upcoming Xbox Showcase. However, a new leak by an X user, DetectiveSeeds, suggests that the Gears of War collection is aiming for a launch in early to mid-August this year on PS5.
Moreover, the data miner has revealed that the title is optimized to utilize the potential of the PS5 Pro. Sadly, the report also mentions that the collection lacks multiplayer.
Importance: With Gears of War being one of Xbox’s iconic franchises, this Collection marks a shift, possibly opening the door for other major Xbox series to be ported on PSs. The revelation of the release date builds anticipation for the title, which could lead to a major release event for the franchise in early to mid-August 2025.
Gears of War New Bundle Has Been Uploaded On PS Store Backend
Being a data miner, the leaker disclosed that the PS5 version of the Gears of War collection has been uploaded to the PlayStation Store’s backend. However, it is not visible to the public, but its presence confirms the expected release date.
Since the news comes from the PS Store listing, it lacks any information about the simultaneous launch of the collection on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PS.

Gears of War collection should be releasing early to mid August. It is PS5 pro enhanced, but I have been told NO Multiplayer PVP, campaign focus only.
For further on Gears of War collection. The game is loaded onto PS storefront on the back end (this is the same with others I have said in the past). It shows 1 player and does not show support for additional players. I asked about co-op, but no clarification on that yet.
Leak’s Credibility & Impacts Of Absence Of Multiplayer
While rumors suggest that the Gears of War new bundle is heading to PlayStation, neither The Coalition nor Microsoft have confirmed the existence of such a collection. However, the upcoming release of Forza Horizon 5 on PlayStation and its pre-orders topping the PlayStation charts hint at the truth of this leak.
In essence, the release of Gears of War new bundle on PS without multiplayer could hinder both the success of the Collection and Microsoft’s efforts to expand the franchise to new platforms.
