Forza Horizon 5 is a 2021 racing video game developed by Playground Games and published by Xbox Game Studios. It was originally released for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC (Windows & Steam). However, Forza Horizon 5 now dominates the PlayStation Store, as the PS5 version is available for pre-order.

The PS5 version of Forza Horizon 5 is developed by Panic Button in collaboration with Turn 10 Studios and Playground Games. It’s expected to launch at the end of April 2025, and PlayStation players will have access to the same content as the Xbox and PC versions.

The game is available for pre-order on the PlayStation Store in three editions: Standard, Deluxe and Premium. While the prices are high for all three editions – with the Premium version being the most expensive at $99.99 – it hasn’t deterred PS5 fans, as its pre-orders are trending on the PlayStation Store.

Importance: Despite being more than 3 years old, Forza Horizon 5 dominates the PlayStation Store, highlighting the significance of early access as a strong selling point. Its launch on PlayStation expands the game’s reach to a massive new audience while giving users access to one of the most acclaimed racing games outside of Xbox’s ecosystem.

In the US, the Premium Edition — which includes early access and all extra content, is topping the charts, currently holding third place, while the Standard edition is in fourth and the Deluxe edition in thirteenth. In the UK, a similar trend follows, where the Premium sits on first, Standard on third and Deluxe on eighth position.

Whereas Canada has first, second and ninth position in the same order of editions. Moreover Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Mexico, Brazil and Portugal are having almost similar trends, as all of them occupy top two positions for Premium and Standard version and a varying position for Deluxe edition in top 10, with the exception of Portugal.

    Pre-Orders: A Short-Term Hype or Long-Term Success?

The sudden surge in pre-orders is likely due to the game’s recent availability and may not be a long-term trend. However, sales indicate that the game is set to perform exceptionally well, especially in the European market.

In addition, the franchise is working on a new free content update, Horizon Realms, which will allow players to explore a curated selection of popular, previously released Evolving Worlds designed and developed by the community.

That’s it for now. Are you excited to explore the PlayStation version of Forza Horizon 5? Share your thought in the comments below!

I have always loved the Forza Horizon games, and its truly amazing to see the title finally coming to PlayStation. It would be great to see all platforms interchanging titles, and not keeping exclusives.
