Steel clashed against bone, and ancient castles crumble under the weight of unrelenting fury—DOOM: The Dark Ages is not just another sequel, it’s a complete reimagining of the franchise’s violent soul. After covering the game’s explosive second trailer reveal at WrestleMania 41in my previous article, the excitement for id Software’s bold new vision has only grown lauder.

This time players won’t just run and gun—they’ll march like medieval war machines through a gothic world teeming with hellish threats. Launching May 15, 2025, across PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, The Dark Ages Promise to deliver a brutal, slower, and heavier take on the DOOM experience, complete with early access perks, exclusive content, and even a blood-splattered, limited-edition Xbox controller.

The limited-edition DOOM: The Dark Ages Xbox Wireless Controller is available now for preorder at a discounted price of $74, ahead of its April 30, 2025, release. The controller also comes bundled with the standard or Premium editions of the game, offering extra savings.

Importance: The discounted DOOM-themed controller reflects Bethesda and Microsoft’s strategy to boost early engagement and fan investment ahead of DOOM: The Dar Ages launch. By offering collectible gear and cross-platform promotions, they strengthen brand loyalty and keep the franchise firmly in the spotlight.

The controller boasts a striking blood-splattered design, inspired by the iconic DOOM Slayer's armor

Preorder The Controller And Unlock Exclusive DLC

Adding to the appeal preorders of the controller come with an exclusive DOOM Slayer Executioner skin DLC, giving players a head start in personalizing their Slayer ahead of DOOM: The Dark Ages’ highly anticipated release on May 15.

DOOM: The Dark Ages Xbox Controller Has A Slayer-Inspired Design

Originally listed at $80, the controller features a striking blood-splattered design inspired by the DOOM Slayer’s armor, with asymmetrical analog sticks, a red Mark of the Slayer on the grip, and face buttons marked with the Sentinel alphabet. It’s a perfect fit for fans looking to enhance their gaming setup.

This discounted offer on the controller is only available at Amazon and Walmart, but this deal won’t last long. Walmart also offers bundle deals that include the controller with either the Standard or Premium edition of the game, saving up to $11 compared to buying separately.

    • DOOM Limited Edition Controller at Amazon — $74 ($80)
    • DOOM Limited Edition Controller at Walmart — $74 ($80)
    • DOOM: The Dark Ages + Themed Controller — $139 ($150)
