Chucklefish has announced that Witchbrook will launch on January 28, 2027, for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. The fantasy life-simulation RPG will also be available through Xbox Game Pass, while the announcement confirms a PlayStation 5 version for the first time.
The release date was revealed during Nintendo’s October 28, 2026, Indie World Showcase, giving players a specific launch date following the game’s previous delays. Chucklefish also shared a new release-date announcement promoting its magical seaside setting and multiplayer support for up to four players.
Witchbrook is being developed by Chucklefish alongside co-development studio Robotality. Set in the coastal town of Mossport, the game combines magical education, exploration, relationship-building and everyday life-simulation activities.

Players take on the role of a student attending Witchbrook College, where they can study magic, learn spells, explore the surrounding town and develop friendships with its residents. The game also features romance, character customization, crafting and activities outside the college.
Mossport includes several distinct locations, ranging from the bustling town center and student village to Shadhollow Forest and the beaches of Parasol Sands. Players can also spend time at Shadbrook Cottage, customize their surroundings, tend a garden and explore nearby farmland and fishing locations.
Multiplayer allows up to four players to experience the magical world together, adding cooperative play to the game’s combination of social interactions, exploration and life-simulation systems.
The January 2027 release follows a lengthy development period. Witchbrook was originally expected to arrive in winter 2025 before Chucklefish postponed it to 2026, explaining that additional development time was necessary to complete the game’s world, activities and interconnected systems.
In subsequent development updates, the studio discussed ongoing playtesting, bug fixes, localization and console porting. Chucklefish also detailed additions made during development, including extra spells, magical creatures, new crafting resources, additional character animations and expanded cottage customization.
The newly confirmed PS5 version expands Witchbrook’s previously announced platform lineup. Earlier official information listed Steam, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox, with other platforms still to be determined.
Witchbrook is now scheduled for January 28, 2027, across all five announced platforms. Xbox Game Pass subscribers will also have access to the game, although additional subscription-tier details and pricing have not been announced as part of the release-date reveal.
