TAITO has officially announced TAITO Milestones 5 for Nintendo Switch, with a Japanese release scheduled for January 28, 2027. The fifth installment in the publisher’s arcade compilation series will feature 10 classic games released between 1978 and 1990, including Space Invaders, Arkanoid: Revenge of DOH, and the three-screen version of Sagaia.

The collection will be available physically and digitally for 5,720 yen (tax included). TAITO confirmed the release date, pricing, and complete game lineup through its official website, alongside an announcement trailer showcasing the included titles.

The 10 games included in TAITO Milestones 5 are Space Invaders (1978), Marine Date (1981), Land Sea Air Squad (1986), Extermination (1987), Arkanoid: Revenge of DOH (1987), Plump Pop (1987), Final Blow (1989), Crime City (1989), Sagaia (three-screen version, 1989), and Hat Trick Hero (1990).

One notable inclusion is the three-screen arcade version of Sagaia, which TAITO describes as receiving its first home conversion. Sagaia is the overseas version of Darius II, featuring changes to the stage layouts and other elements. Its original three-screen presentation makes it a distinctive addition to the compilation.

Arkanoid: Revenge of DOH also brings expanded block-breaking gameplay, including branching routes and additional items compared with the original Arkanoid. TAITO has confirmed that Revenge of DOH and Marine Date will support USB mouse controls on Nintendo Switch.

The collection covers several arcade genres beyond shooters and block-breaking games. Final Blow is a boxing game featuring five heavyweight fighters, while Hat Trick Hero offers international soccer matches. Crime City follows detectives Tony and Raymond from Chase H.Q., combining action shooting with other arcade sequences.

Hamster Corporation, the developer behind the Arcade Archives series, is assisting with the collection’s development. The partnership continues the approach used for previous TAITO Milestones releases, which bring selections of the publisher’s arcade catalogue to Nintendo’s console.

TAITO has also detailed retailer-specific physical edition bonuses in Japan. Participating retailers will offer a special soundtrack CD featuring music from the collection or a Space Invaders-themed storage case designed to hold all five TAITO Milestones releases. The storage case will feature different decorative designs depending on the retailer.

TAITO Milestones 5 follows TAITO Milestones 4, which launched for Nintendo Switch in March 2026. The new collection continues the series with another selection of arcade releases, including the first home conversion of Sagaia’s three-screen version.

For now, the January 28, 2027 release date and 5,720 yen pricing are confirmed for Japan. TAITO has not announced a separate Western release date or regional pricing.
