In recent years, Sony has increased its focus on live-action adaptations of their popular exclusive franchises. Sony reportedly has several movies in development, including a God of War movie, a Twisted Metal movie, a Horizon movie, a Ghost of Tsushima movie, and more.

While information about these movies is scarce, we might have some news about the Ghost of Tsushima movie, as Hiroyuki Sanada, known for his role in the recently acclaimed Shogun series, is reportedly in talks for a role in the Ghost of Tsushima adaptation, according to CNBC insider, DanielRPK.

Why it matters: Ghost of Tsushima has emerged as one of PlayStation’s best exclusives, and its recent release on PC has broadened its audience and increased its popularity, which is why many fans would be eagerly awaiting its upcoming movie.

If these talks result in an agreement, it would be an excellent casting choice. Hiroyuki Sanada’s performance in the Shogun series was widely praised for its authenticity, making him a strong candidate for the Ghost of Tsushima movie.

If there is any role suitable for Hiroyuki Sanada in the Ghost of Tsushima movie, it is undoubtedly that of Jin Sakai, the protagonist. Hiroyuki is more than capable of handling such a role, and it wouldn’t be his first time acting in a feudal Japan setting.

The Ghost of Tsushima franchise seems to have a bright future ahead. A sequel to the game is reportedly in development, with rumors suggesting it might be revealed this month. Speculations are rife about Ghost of Tsushima 2’s presence at the upcoming Summer Game Fest.

This claim is further supported by other rumors stating that PlayStation has planned more announcements for the Summer Game Fest. Given the event’s significance, we can set high expectations for games like Ghost of Tsushima 2, Death Stranding 2, and Marvel’s Wolverine.

However, nothing is certain as of now. We are eagerly looking forward to the Summer Game Fest to find out more. If these rumors do turn out to be true, it seems that Ghost of Tsushima fans have a lot to look forward to in the near future.
