Capcom’s success with their Resident Evil remakes has earned them the title of “king of remakes.” Each of their remakes has been met with excitement and praise from fans, solidifying their reputation in the gaming industry.

A reliable leaker Resident Evil leaker, Dusk Golem, recently revealed that Capcom is currently working on remakes for two titles they previously skipped: Resident Evil Zero and Code Veronica. Both these games have been in high anticipation, especially a Resident Evil Zero Code Veronica Remake.

Why it matters: Resident Evil Zero and Code Veronica hold significant importance in the Resident Evil franchise’s narrative, as they add depth and richness to the game’s narrative.

Capcom Did A Tremendous Job With Resident Evil 4 Remake

This is great news for all the Resident Evil fans who have eagerly awaited remakes for these games ever since Capcom began remaking the Resident Evil titles in 2019 since they were previously disappointed due to Capcom deciding to skip remaking those games.

Capcom also faced criticism for skipping over Resident Evil 1 Remake proceeding directly to Resident Evil 2. However, reports from some time ago indicated that Capcom is working on a Resident Evil 1 remake as well.

So thankfully, it appears that Capcom has listened attentively to the fans and is now diligently working to address the gaps they left behind.

In addition to the Resident Evil Code Veronica Remake, along with Resident Evil Zero and Resident Evil 1 Remakes, Capcom is reportedly developing the next mainline installment in the franchise: Resident Evil 9. This installment is said to introduce an open-world concept, a departure from the series’ traditional gameplay style.

Unfortunately, Dusk Golem’s revelations also include news of a delay for Resident Evil 9. Originally slated for a January 2025 release, the game’s launch has been pushed back to late 2025 or possibly even 2026. While disappointing, this delay is understandable given the developer’s current workload.

Despite the setback of Resident Evil 9’s delay, it’s understandable given the developer’s current workload. Nonetheless, if these reports are accurate, it appears that Resident Evil fans, ourselves included, have a lot to look forward to in the future.

Looking ahead, we’re eagerly anticipating how these upcoming games will unfold. One thing remains certain: we have a great deal of trust in Capcom. Their track record speaks for itself, and they rarely fail to meet expectations, so we’re setting the bar high for what’s to come.
