Nintendo Switch 2 New Hardware And Game Details Leak Online

The Nintendo Switch 2 is still the subject of rumors, with fresh leaks revealing details about its development technology and possible game selection. Between now and March 2025, Nintendo is anticipated to unveil its next platform, which has fans excited for official information.

Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa stated in November 2024 that the forthcoming system, which is speculatively referred to as the Nintendo Switch 2, will allow backward compatibility with original Switch games.

According to speculation, the device will have improved hardware on par with the PlayStation 4 Pro, but it will retain the hybrid design of its predecessor. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild may also receive a Switch 2 upgrade as a launch title, according to speculations.

A recent leak, translated by a Famiboards user from a Chinese forum, claims Nintendo sent development kits for the Switch 2 to major studios nearly two years ago.

These kits reportedly resemble tablets and use original Switch Joy-Cons as controllers, implying compatibility with existing peripherals. However, the insider suggests newer Joy-Cons might have been distributed later. The dev kit’s touchscreen is also said to offer improved sensitivity compared to the current Switch.

According to the insider, indie developers found the dev kit’s performance slightly below the PlayStation 4 Pro for running software. However, they admitted that limited optimization and incomplete hardware knowledge might have influenced their assessments.

Some indie games developed on these kits reportedly include titles already available on the original Switch, and the Nintendo eShop submission process appears identical to the current system.

Additional leaks hint at exciting projects in the works. Nintendo might be developing a new Mario Kart title inspired by Mario Kart: Double Dash.

Other rumors mention a 2D Mario platformer with a stage referencing The Super Mario Bros. Movie, alongside potential titles like Monolith Soft’s Project X Zone, a Custom Robo sequel, and even an Assassin’s Creed game.

While these leaks paint an intriguing picture of the Nintendo Switch 2, none of the information has been verified. Fans should approach these claims with caution as they await official announcements from Nintendo.
