A user on Famiboards, going by the handle RandomlyRandom67, shared hidden details about component shipments that might be linked to the Switch 2. According to these details, the console did not enter mass production in August 2024, as previously rumored.

This suggests that it is unlikely that the Nintendo Switch 2 will launch during the first quarter of 2025, as Nintendo wants to avoid the supply issues that plagued the releases of the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.

Initial rumors suggested that the reveal would happen sometime in October 2024, but with the month now more than halfway over and no news from Nintendo, sources are suggesting the reveal has been postponed. Some insiders claim that Nintendo initially planned to unveil the console in October, but unforeseen circumstances caused a delay.

Importance: The Nintendo Switch 2 is a great deal for the gaming industry as the Nintendo Switch performed exceptionally well, and since the Switch 2 is going to be much more powerful it is expected to perform even better.

The most recent rumors imply that Nintendo is currently stockpiling components to begin mass production once the Switch 2 design is officially revealed.

However, it’s possible that the console won’t hit store shelves until the holiday season of 2025, depending on when the system is formally announced.

As for the design of the new console, leaks and rumors suggest it will maintain the hybrid console/handheld design of the Nintendo Switch, although it could feature a bulkier dock with an active cooling system.

The codename for the console was reportedly leaked in a data breach targeting Pokémon developer Game Freak, but this information has not been officially verified.

For now, Nintendo remains tight-lipped about the specifics of its next console, and fans will have to wait until the company is ready to make an official announcement. We are intrigued to see how the successor to one of the greatest consoles in history plays out.
