God of War Ragnarok is undoubtedly the next highly anticipated PlayStation exclusive to be ported to the PC platform. PC players will finally have the opportunity to complete Kratos’ adventure nearly two years after the game first launched on the PS4 and PS5.

The highly anticipated PC port of God of War Ragnarok is set to release later this year, but players will need to make room for its sizable file as Sony recently shared the technical requirements for the game.

The game’s file size will be a hefty 190GB, more than double the 84GB size of the PS5 version. The PS4 version was 118GB, but still smaller than the upcoming PC version. The increase in file size is likely due to enhanced graphics, with higher resolutions and smoother frame rates promised by Santa Monica Studio.

Importance: Games are becoming increasingly demanding on storage with each passing day, as developers strive to enhance quality and deliver richer experiences. This push for higher quality results in larger game file sizes.

Initially launched on PlayStation in late 2022, God of War Ragnarok received widespread acclaim for its polished gameplay, stunning visuals, and gripping narrative centered around Kratos and Atreus as they face off against the gods of Asgard. After months of speculation, Sony officially announced the PC release date of September 19 during a PlayStation State of Play event in May.

The PC port of God of War Ragnarok is being co-developed by Jetpack Interactive, the same studio responsible for bringing the previous God of War game to PC in 2022. This new version will feature support for NVIDIA DLSS, AMD FSR, and Intel XeSS, as well as unlocked frame rates.

It will also include the God of War Ragnarok: Valhalla DLC, which was released last winter. However, players should be aware that a PlayStation Network account will be required to access the game, which may present issues for gamers in certain regions.

God of War Ragnarok was already a demanding title on PlayStation 5, and PC gamers will need to free up substantial storage to accommodate the port. Players who pre-order either the standard or digital deluxe editions on Steam or the Epic Game Store will receive exclusive in-game cosmetics, including the Kratos Risen Snow Armor and Atreus Risen Snow Tunic, which unlock at specific points in the game.
