Hidetaka Miyazaki, president of From Software and director of Elden Ring, has hinted at the potential for an adaptation of the popular fantasy RPG.

Miyazaki shared his thoughts with The Guardian, stating,

“I don’t see any reason to deny another interpretation or adaptation of Elden Ring, a movie for example.”

Importance: Elden Ring has become one of the best RPGs in history, and the success of its Shadow of the Erdtree expansion has garnered a massive fanbase. If FromSoftware can capitalize on this popularity and venture into the film industry, it could reach new heights.

He acknowledged that while he and From Software may not possess the expertise to produce content in other media, collaborating with a capable partner could make it possible.

“We’d have to build a lot of trust and agreement on whatever it is we’re trying to achieve, but there’s interest, for sure,”

Elden Ring also has connections to Game of Thrones, as it was created in collaboration with George R. R. Martin, the man behind the fantasy series. This makes the possibility of a TV adaptation very exciting and plausible, especially given the game’s rich narrative and potential for such a project.

Elden Ring has been a massive success, with From Software announcing that over 25 million copies have been shipped since its release in February 2022. The game recently expanded with the release of Shadow of the Erdtree, further adding to the game’s thick lore, making a possible TV adaptation even more exciting.

The expansion is the best rated DLC ever and has been enjyoed by many around the world. Its size is bigger than that of Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, however, its difficulty has been a point of criticism for many players as they deem it to hard. Nevertheless, FromSoftware recently acknowledged this issue after the huge uproar and has lowered the difficulty for a more balanaced gameplay.

While Miyazaki has ruled out the possibility of a second expansion for Elden Ring, he remains open to the idea of a potential sequel, leaving fans hopeful for more content in the future.

As the interest in an Elden Ring adaptation grows, fans eagerly await further developments and announcements regarding the potential for the game’s story to be explored in new and exciting ways.
