The first downloadable content (DLC) pack for Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero is set to expand the game’s already impressive roster with nearly a dozen new characters. Titled the “Hero of Justice” DLC, the pack will officially launch on January 23, 2025, for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, with early access available starting January 20 for season pass holders.

Released in late 2024, Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero has quickly become a standout title for Bandai Namco, breaking franchise sales records and earning a spot as one of the year’s best-selling games. To sustain this momentum, the developers are supporting the game with new content and regular updates. Alongside the DLC, patches addressing online performance issues and competitive match-quitting concerns are also planned, ensuring a better overall experience for players.

    What’s New

The “Hero of Justice” DLC draws inspiration from the Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero movie, introducing fan-favorite characters and iconic battles from the film. The new roster additions include:

    • Gohan (Super Hero)
    • Ultimate Gohan
    • Beast Gohan
    • Gohan (Super Saiyan 2)
    • Piccolo (Super Hero)
    • Orange Piccolo
    • Piccolo (Potential Unlocked)
    • Giant Piccolo
    • Cell Max
    • Gamma 1
    • Gamma 2

Additionally, players will gain access to Piccolo’s Red Ribbon Army disguise costume, as seen in the movie. The DLC also includes three custom battles, such as a fight between the Androids, a Gohan-versus-Goku matchup, and a giant-size showdown with Cell Max.

The Hero of Justice DLC pack is part of the Sparking! Zero Season Pass, which grants 72-hour early access to the new characters. The pass will also include the second and third DLC packs, expected to release in the first half of 2025. These future updates will introduce characters from Dragon Ball: Daima, with Glorio and Mini Vegeta already confirmed for the second pack.

The latest DLC pack showcases Bandai Namco’s commitment to keeping Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero fresh and engaging. With an expanding roster, custom battles, and improved gameplay mechanics, dedicated Dragon Ball fans have plenty to look forward to in the coming months. Whether reliving iconic moments from the series or testing their skills in competitive play, players can expect an action-packed year ahead.
