Concord failed to make an impact in the competitive hero shooter genre, and was taken offline on September 6, following disappointing sales and a lukewarm critical reception. As one of the biggest commercial missteps in PlayStation’s history, Concord was swiftly withdrawn, with full refunds issued to players who had purchased the game.

While the studio behind the game has hinted at exploring options to revive the game, there’s been no confirmation of its return. For now, Concord appears to be written off, but traces of the game linger in an unexpected place — PlayStation’s official merchandise store.

Concord merchandise is still available on the US PlayStation Gear website. The selection is minimal, with only a beanie hat, mug, hoodie, and t-shirt, but these items serve as rare mementos of the game’s brief existence.

Importance: Concord was anticipated to be PlayStation’s next big hit, but it quickly became one of their most disappointing titles. The situation was so dire that PlayStation chose not to offer any post-launch support, opting instead to take the game offline entirely.

However, with the game’s failure to attract a substantial player base, it’s unlikely that many will rush to buy its branded merch. For those interested in picking up some Concord memorabilia, it may be worth waiting for potential discounts as PlayStation looks to clear out remaining stock.

Fans of the game, or collectors who appreciate the novelty of owning items from a short-lived title, might find this merchandise a quirky piece of gaming history.

Additionally, PlayStation’s Secret Level episode dedicated to Concord is set to air soon, but beyond that, the fate of the IP remains uncertain. Many speculate that Firewalk Studios could pivot the game to a free-to-play model, similar to popular titles like Overwatch 2 and Valorant.

This shift could involve significant reworking of Concord’s core mechanics and business model, potentially affecting the studio’s original roadmap. As Firewalk Studios navigates this challenging situation, it remains to be seen whether Concord will make a comeback or be relegated to the annals of gaming history.

Fans and industry observers will be watching closely to see if the studio can turn things around, either with a reimagined version of Concord or a fresh new project.
