Fans of Call of Duty are upset with Activision’s response to complaints about hit registration issues in Black Ops 6 and Warzone. The company has claimed that “erroneous blood effects”—visual cues showing blood even when shots miss—are causing confusion, rather than any actual problem with hit registration.

However, many players disagree and feel that Activision is dismissing their concerns, with some accusing the company of “gaslighting” the community.

The hit registration issue have plagued the game since its release on October 25. Many players report that their shots are not registering despite being on target.

In a recent Twitter statement, Activision attributed the problem to misleading visual blood effects rather than a deeper issue with hit detection.

We've identified an issue that could result in erroneous visual blood effects when damage was not actually dealt while shooting at enemies in all modes.

This explanation has further angered the community. The statement, which has been viewed over two million times, sparked frustration among players who feel the company is downplaying legitimate concerns.

Content creators like Westie and Loochy have openly criticized Activision’s response, with Loochy refusing to accept that visual blood effects are the real problem.

The controversy extends to Warzone, where players are experiencing similar hit registration problems. YouTuber FlexZ shared a clip showing multiple accurate shots failing to register, asking the developers to explain the issue.

Fans are now waiting to see if the backlash will prompt Activision to issue a more substantial response or address the problem more directly.

However, despite ongoing bugs, including UI glitches, cheaters and inaccurate XP tracking, Black Ops 6 has been a commercial success, becoming the most successful launch in the series’ history. Activision announced that the game set records for the highest number of players, total hours played, and matches completed in its first month.

To celebrate, developer Treyarch Studios hosted a double XP event from November 27 to December 2, offering players the chance to earn double player and weapon XP, as well as additional bonuses in Zombies mode.
