Black Myth: Wukong Reveals $5,000 Life Size Sculpture

Black Myth: Wukong, developed by Game Science, has been one of 2024’s standout hits, a year filled with major gaming releases. The game reimagines a classic Chinese legend with a dark fantasy aesthetic and stunning visuals, delivering an action-packed experience that resonated with players and critics alike.

At the 2024 Game Awards, it earned several nominations and won in two categories, cementing its popularity.

Now, Fans of Black Myth: Wukong will soon have the chance to own an impressive life-size bust of the gameโ€™s protagonist, The Destined One, however, with a hefty price tag. The collectible became available for pre-order on December 16, 2024.

Queen Studios has introduced a highly detailed sculpture of The Destined One, the gameโ€™s protagonist. However, its price reflects the craftsmanshipโ€”pre-orders require a down payment of $1,750, with the total cost reaching $4,930. Factoring in shipping, buyers can expect to spend over $5,000 in total. To showcase the bustโ€™s intricate design, Queen Studios also released a promotional video.

The life-size sculpture, standing nearly 40 inches (100 centimeters) tall, captures The Destined Oneโ€™s upper body. It features the iconic Monkey King outfit from the game and the mystical gourd, brought to life with exceptional attention to detail. Pre-orders will remain open until December 30, 2024, with deliveries expected in Q4 2025.

Queen Studios describes the bust as a masterpiece of realism and craftsmanship. The Destined Oneโ€™s fur is crafted from Golden Silk Wool for a lifelike texture, while the skin uses Platinum Silicone and resin to replicate its realistic appearance. The armor is equally intricate, with detailed carvings, red ropes, and visible lacing on various pieces.

While the price may deter many fans, high-end gaming collectibles are not uncommon, nor is this the most expensive. In 2022, Square Enix unveiled a $12,000 Masterline Statue of Terra from Final Fantasy VI atop Magitek armor, a release so costly it drew criticism from Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi.

For dedicated fans with deep pockets, the Black Myth: Wukong bust is a remarkable tribute to the gameโ€™s artistry and impact.
