Assetto Corsa EVO Unveils in Hours: Returning to Automotive Roots

Assetto Corsa EVO is set for unveiling in just a few hours, showcasing a return to automotive culture with licensed cars, VR support, and a January 2025 early access release. Key partners like Porsche and Alfa Romeo are involved, hinting at a deeper car enthusiast experience beyond racing

The highly anticipated Assetto Corsa EVO is slated for an official unveiling on Monday, 30th September 2024, with an announcement trailer set to debut at 1 pm BST / 2 pm CEST / 5 am PST / 8 am EST. This reveal comes after months of speculation and growing excitement, following financial reports hinting at the development of Assetto Corsa 2, and the eventual confirmation of the Assetto Corsa EVO name. A teaser was previously embedded in Assetto Corsa Competizione, and just recently, it was confirmed that Assetto Corsa EVO would enter early access in January 2025.

Over the past five years, Assetto Corsa EVO has been under development, and the game promises an impressive range of features, including licensed car models, meticulously recreated tracks, and full support for virtual reality. In the lead-up to the unveiling, still images have been released showing off some of the detailed car models and environments. Porsche has been highlighted as a key partner in the project, alongside other automotive and racing industry giants such as Alfa Romeo, sim-racing equipment maker RSeat, crash helmet specialists BELL, BBR, and racewear manufacturer OMP. The game’s trailer description includes a special thank you to these partners and adds the intriguing tagline, “Car passion is a state of mind and it’s driven by heart,” hinting at a deeper emotional connection to the world of cars.

Unlike Assetto Corsa Competizione, which is focused primarily on official SRO racing and motorsport, Assetto Corsa EVO seems to be steering back to the franchise’s roots with a broader focus on general automotive culture. This is suggested by the early hints and descriptions, which indicate that the game will explore more than just professional racing. For instance, the teasers released so far appear to show images of cars in what might be a showroom setting, pointing to a more immersive car enthusiast experience beyond the track.

As fans eagerly await more information, the upcoming trailer will provide the first real look at the game in action, giving a clearer sense of what to expect from Assetto Corsa EVO. With the return to its automotive roots and collaborations with top-tier brands, this new installment aims to offer a fresh, passion-driven experience that goes beyond the limits of motorsport simulations.
