Sony has been a significant force in the tech industry, consistently pushing boundaries. They have ventured into nearly every technology sector, from consoles and TVs to virtual reality and beyond, always aiming for excellence.

Recently, during their corporate strategy meeting, Sony unveiled a video featuring a glimpse of a futuristic PlayStation controller. The event was used to outline Sony’s long-term vision and their goals for the next decade.

The video opens with what appears to be virtual reality glasses, introducing a virtual world. It then features various futuristic elements, but the standout is undoubtedly the sleek, futuristic PlayStation controller, which looks impressive.

A video like this might seem unrealistic at the moment, but if we consider the history of everyday items like smartphones, we realize that such an invention would have seemed highly improbable just a few decades ago. Yet today, smartphones are incredibly common.

Moreover, some of the items featured in the video already exist. For instance, the supposed Virtual Reality glasses have been around for a while, typically in the form of headsets rather than glasses. However, we are definitely progressing in that direction, especially with the recent launch of the Apple Vision Pro.

A decade offers ample time for significant technological advancements. Given the rapid pace of recent developments, particularly in Artificial Intelligence, we are highly confident in such a future where imaginations are swiftly becoming reality.

Sony envisions a future where physical and virtual realities seamlessly blend. They aim to create new experiential value by combining their creativity with technology. Their Creative Entertainment Vision comprises of three phases:

    • Harnessing technology to unleash the creativity of creators around the world, transcending physical, virtual and time dimensions.
    • Connecting diverse people and values across boundaries to foster vibrant communities.
    • Together with creators, creating exciting experiences rich in narrative that go beyond imagination, and spreading them as new touchpoints for Kando around the world.

It does appear that Sony has an exciting vision for the future, and we’re hopeful they succeed in their plans. We’re intrigued to see how this will impact the world of technology and shape the future ahead.

We’re also eager to see how these developments will transform the gaming industry. It looks like we’ll have to wait to see what Sony has in store for us in the future.
