PlayStation Showcase/State Of Play Is Seemingly Not Happening Anytime Soon

A PlayStation Showcase has been rumored for a long while, but recently the hype around such an event is dying down as it seems the event might not be happening anytime soon.

Previously, we heard that the PlayStation Showcase might have actually been a State of Play, which wasn’t too bad since we were still getting something from PlayStation. However, now it seems like we might not be getting anything.

This is because Konami recently announced their Silent Hill transmission for this week on May 30th. This implies that a PlayStation Showcase or State of Play is very unlikely now, as Konami typically wouldn’t hold their own event when a major PlayStation event is upcoming.

Why it matters: A PlayStation Showcase or State of Play is a major event in the gaming industry, providing updates on many games in development and PlayStation’s future projects. Many developers aim to present their games at these events to reach a wider audience.

Silent Hill 2 Remake Release Date Highly Likely To Be Revealed At The Transmission

This is unfortunate news for everyone who was eagerly awaiting such an event from PlayStation. Since the event was rumored for May and we are now at the end of the month with no announcements, it seems unlikely to happen.

PlayStation has many projects in development and future projects that people are eager to learn about. However, it appears we will have to wait longer to get updates on these projects.

The near future isn’t bland for the gaming industry at all though, because, in addition to the Konami Silent Hill Transmission, the Xbox Games Showcase is scheduled for June 9, along with a Call of Duty direct that will reveal more about the upcoming Call of Duty game, Black Ops 6, including detailed gameplay.

So, while a PlayStation Showcase or State of Play would have been ideal, we still have exciting events to look forward to. We are eagerly anticipating the upcoming events and the revelations they will bring.
