Nintendo Confirms Double Nintendo Direct For Tomorrow
Recently, rumors have been circulating about a major Nintendo event in late summer 2024, however, there had not been official news about such an event until now.
Nintendo has finally announced not one but two events for tomorrow, August 27, which will include both a Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase and an Indie World presentation. This marks the first time these two events will be held on the same day.
Importance: Nintendo events are always packed with exciting content, giving fans a wealth of information about upcoming projects and new releases.
For keen observers of the gaming industry, this news might not come as much of a surprise, especially since Brazil-based journalist Pedro Henrique Lutti Lippe had almost accurately reported both events recently.
Nintendo confirmed that the Indie World presentation is scheduled for tomorrow, August 27, at 7am PT / 10am ET / 4pm CET. Immediately following this, the Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase will air. Combined, both shows are expected to run for around 40 minutes.
This is the first time that Nintendo has ever hosted a Partner Showcase and Indie World presentation back-to-back. The only similar occurrence was in 2020 when a Mini Partner Showcase was paired with a Monster Hunter Nintendo Direct on the same day.
Unlike that event, which centered around a specific game franchise, tomorrow’s presentations are expected to highlight a variety of upcoming Switch titles.
Regarding the much-anticipated Switch 2, Nintendo confirmed that neither presentation will mention the next-generation console. However, this double event could be Nintendo’s way of clearing the deck for a potential hardware reveal in the near future.
Rumors suggest that the Switch 2 is expected to enter mass production by the end of September 2024, making a reveal likely in the next few weeks to prevent factory leaks from ruining the surprise.
As for the content of tomorrow’s presentations, at least one unannounced game seems likely to debut: the Nintendo Switch version of MySims. This game has already been leaked from multiple sources, including EA’s website, making its official announcement seem imminent.
