Ghost of Tsushima and Helldivers 2 Have Been Removed From Unsupported PSN Regions on PC
Ghost of Tsushima and Helldivers 2 were just harmed by Sony’s PlayStation integration on PC. There was pandemonium when both games were delisted in unsupported PSN areas.
Despite Sony’s explicit pledge to undo the modifications made in the former’s instance, recent events indicate the company may be heading in the other way. We can confirm that in unsupported territories, both games have been totally removed from Steam.
As a result, the store pages for Helldivers 2 and Ghost of Tsushima are no longer available in certain areas.
Why it matters: A tiny portion of the PC gaming community was still waiting for these ports to come back in every region, even in spite of the unclear messaging.
It’s interesting that Steam, as shown above, still displays the Ghost of Tsushima banner in these areas. On the other hand, clicking on this banner takes us to a page stating that the game has been taken down from our area entirely.
The primary difference in this instance is that prior to this, purchasing of both titles were prohibited in unsupported territories. Users using Steam could still access reviews, recent discussions, and other content by visiting their store page.
Having deleted them all, this is no longer the case. Neither game appears when looking for the title, as can be seen in the image below.
The fact that Arrowhead Game Studios was working on rereleasing Helldviers 2 across all regions until recently is arguably the most intriguing aspect of this situation. Nevertheless, given that the Steam shop page has all but disappeared in more than 100 regions, this might no longer be the case.
Regarding Ghost of Tsushima, PlayStation failed to heed the outcry that followed the delisting of this PC port. This suggests that the massive gaming company has no plans to modify its policies.
Whether Sony or Valve was behind this action is yet unknown. Although it was acknowledged that Sony ordered the most recent delistings, Valve eventually took the game off the market.
As of right now, all other PlayStation games are still accessible in these areas; however, we’ll keep readers informed as more details about the issue become available. We advise sending any questions you may have for Valve and Sony to get more information in the interim.
