The next entry in the Call of Duty franchise is being awaited by many around the world. However, for a long time there had been no news surrounding the game, Activision was dropping hints here and there but no official concrete news was being revealed.

However, the wait is finally over as Activision has officially announced the next title in the Call of Duty franchise, marking a return to the Black Ops series following Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War in 2020.

The Call of Duty Black Ops games have been pivotal in the franchise’s history, attracting a large audience by moving away from the World War settings of other games. They are known for their engaging storylines, rich content, and captivating gameplay.

It appears that development on the new Call of Duty game is well underway. Activision also announced that the first in-depth gameplay of Call of Duty Black Ops 6 will be revealed at the Call of Duty Direct, following the Xbox Games Showcase scheduled for June 9.

Until now, Xbox had confirmed a Direct after their showcase but hadn’t specified its focus. Fans quickly speculated that it could be about Call of Duty, given the franchise’s recent silence, and they were spot on.

The game is reportedly set during the Gulf War and will allegedly bring back the fan-favorite round-based zombies mode, reminiscent of earlier Black Ops games. This is a shift from the previous Black Ops title, which featured an objective-based zombies mode.

The last Call of Duty Black Ops title, Cold War, was commercially successful but received criticism for deviating from the classic Black Ops experience. Many felt it was unfinished, with bugs and a lack of content.

We hope the new title delivers an experience similar to the classic Black Ops games, which played a significant role in the Call of Duty franchise’s success and should not be overshadowed. These games were instrumental in pushing Call of Duty to new heights.

Call of Duty Black Ops 6 is expected to launch by the end of this year, and a release date or at least a release window will most certainly be announced during the Call of Duty Direct.

We are very excited about the upcoming Call of Duty title and eagerly anticipate the franchise’s return to the Black Ops series after nearly four years.

Additionally, we are looking forward to the Xbox Games Showcase and are curious to see what Xbox has been working on, alongside the Call of Duty Direct.
